My experience on the bus tour to Morgan State University was an amazing experience. After being on several college tours, the Philadelphia Graduate Chapter of Groove Phi Groove SFI. provided me with an experience I will always remember. Their tour truly presents an opportunity to examine a campus and university in a group setting, which also provides uniquely intimate attention for students considering admission to the college being toured.  Not only did the Admissions Offices make everyone feel special, the men of Groove Phi Groove, Social Fellowship also made all of us feel comfortable; as if we were all members of their organization.

One of the best parts of the bus ride was the opportunity to meet a lot of people from various backgrounds, different neighborhoods, and adults employed in different vocational fields.   During the bus ride, we shared our different interests. Yet despite our differences, I felt like we were one large family. In sharing my interest and engaging in meaningful conversation, I was able to address some of my skepticism about going to college; will campus life be fun?  Will the cost of obtaining a college education outweigh the cost, and whether college is for real for me? Through a forthright conversation on the bus ride and tour, I came to understand what Nelson Mandela meant when he said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

The Admissions staff and men of Groove Phi Groove open-ended my eyes to the many pathways and opportunists available for me. They have motivated me to do the best as I can in life and use my unique way of seeing things to change the world in a positive way. They've not only taught me lessons about college, but they've taught me lessons about life.  Through the opportunity given to me, I am now highly considering attending college for the 2017 fall semester and Morgan State University is my top choice.

One of the most important lessons that they have taught me is to never give up on something that you're really passionate about, just because of obstacles.  Overall, the most memorable moment for me was provided by the lady that greeted us when we first came to the college. She was not from the best background, but that didn't stop her from reaching her dreams of going to college and averaging a very high GPA in college despite her high school GPA. This was exactly the encouragement I needed and made this truly the best college tour of the many I have attended. I would like to thank the members of Groove Phi Groove, Social Fellowship, who made the tour possible.
